African visit in Nordic weather


Sunday Roskilde BMX Club had a vist from the national team of Zimbabwe who, like the local riders, defied the weather to train for next week's World Challenge in Copenhagen.

The guests liked the track but, like ourselves, expressed some concern over the weather: 'are your summers always like this..?'

In spite of the cold and rain everybody had a great afternoon - at least the riders. What all the parents standing still think of our Danish summer weather is a different matter...

Barry Nobles Race Clinic

American elite rider Barry Nobles throws a race clinic in Roskilde Sunday 10. July 2:00-4:00 p.m.

Barry Nobles is visiting Denmark for the UCI World Championships in Copenhagen 24.-31. August. As part of his race preparations he has offered to share his expertise with younger local riders.

City Council secures training facilities

Yet another obstacle on the road to Roskilde's new BMX track has been cleared: Roskilde City Council has granted the club DKK 200.000 (USD 36.610) for the track top coat and for wiring.

With this grant daily training has been secured. Now only the weather can delay the season's training as the track needs to be free from snow and melt water before the work can begin.

However, a lot of work still remains raising money for the two start gates before the stadium can be used for races. The committee and the sponsor sub-committee works hard at this. Don't forget that you can support this work as a micro sponsor or through a sponsor contract.

World leader in grass sponsors Roskilde BMX


Though probably unknown to many, the world's largest manufacturer of grass seeds is based in Roskilde. DLF Trifolium grows and develops seed mixes for golf courses and stadiums all over the world and has been chosen for the football world championship in South Africa this year. Through a generous sponsorship the comapny's products are now also tested on the new BMX Stadium in Roskilde.

The track in winter coat

Result of the charity auction

The balance of the charity auction held in partnership with Lauritz.com auctioneers has been settled.

The result is an astonishing DKK 43.785 (USD 8473) - the sum of the bids as well as the fees, donated by Lauritz.com.

Above all, the money will of course go towards the completion of the track at Darupvej, which can hopefully be resumed once the frost leaves the ground. Meanwhile we can only enjoy the sight of the stadium in its winter coat...

Micro sponsor... what's that?

Roskilde BMX Club breaks new ground raising money for the new BMX stadium.

The concept is called micro sponsorship. The idea is to give private and commercial sponsors cheap and easy access to the club website while supporting the good cause.
